Rachel Dorothy was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She fell in love with creating and aesthetics at a very early age and was lucky enough to have a family who always encouraged her pursuit of the arts. Throughout her teenage years, she became particularly focused on cosmetic artistry in both practical and dramatic applications. At 21, she graduated from Emory University with a bachelor’s degree in Women’s, Gender, and Sexualities’ Studies and began her first “big girl job” as a legal assistant working in public finance. Needless to say, the corporate world became a bit depressing after a while, and she began dreaming of a career where she would be free to be herself, help new people each day, and work in a creative environment.
Through her involvement in the body modification community and connections therein, she learned about the art of permanent cosmetics and began to see how she could finally apply her love of beauty and art to leading a fulfilling career path. In 2017 she completed a course with an internationally-recognized microblading school and began working towards beginning to offer microblading services commercially. Rachel is thrilled to be able to work alongside some of her favorite artists at Equinox Artistry Collective and cannot wait to provide microblading services to those who may be suffering from medical conditions that prevent them from having the eyebrows and look that they dream of, or even those who may want something that takes some time out of their makeup routine in the mornings. In addition to offering microblading services, Rachel offers tooth gem application as another creative outlet to help people shine inside and out.
Rachel is also a vegan, avid bookworm, green-thumb-haver, and a collector of bizarre antiques – ask her about her early 20th century vibrator!
